DO YOU SHAKE?

In children, sleep disorders are common and can be diverse by age.

They concern 25% of young children(1), 50% of school-age children(2) and 33% of adolescents(3).

Once the pathological causes have been ruled out, the main reasons are as follows:

In the young child

  • Anxieties: (fear of bedtime, separation from the black, etc.)
  • L’alimentation Diet: an insufficient or too abundant evening meal can have an influence on sleep
  • Night terrors: they appear at the beginning of the night, in deep sleep, and manifested in a child’s agitation, sweating, sometimes screaming or crying

In the child and pre-adolescent

  • Inadequate lifestyle (break of biological rhythms, too much time spent on screens, etc.)
  • Anxiety: sstres, family conflicts, academic difficulties, psycho-affective factors, etc., are all factors that may affect the child and his sleep.

The disturbances of sleep are not without consequences for the child’s life, but also for the life of the child’s entourage. It will be possible to observe:

  • A risk of child irritability
  • A lack of concentration and memorization that can, in the long term, lead to difficulties at school
  • Daytime sleepiness
  • A risk of overweight

Rituals, a first step towards quality sleep

  • Addiction will be given to regular bedtime and lifting times
  • A healthy, non-confrontational and relaxing family environment will promote appeasement of the child before sleepiness
  • It is also advisable to set up a “set ritual”: reading a story, a hug…
  • Finally, plants with soothing properties will be able to participate in calming and promote quality sleep.
